Pics - October 10, 2016

Trade off with Sister Nay. We were trying to look like models.. haha
I got a pumpkin shake and it made me feel like it was fall finally!
Sister McGregor ended her mission on Thursday. I got to say goodbye and meet her mum and dad! They are the greatest!

We were so excited that we had to evacuate and we finally got to use our red emergency backpacks!
Thursday night we were so tired of being cooped up in the apartment so we decided to take a walk and go tracting until 9... we were suppose to be in at 6.. We are a little rebellious!
So this picture describes my hurricane experience. I sat in a chair at Elder and Sister Cengiz' house and they offered me treats and food every 5 minutes. I felt like I was on holiday! They made me capture the moment by taking a picture of all the food I was eating.
These are the photos Elder Cengiz took of us studying to send to President and Sister Lee.
We survived hurricane Matthew!
The Jax West sisters stayed with us as well. It was such a fun week!
Sunday morning they had the giant semi from Utah at our church full of supplies!
Another picture of the semi truck! I'm surprised it fit in our church parking lot.
Me, Sister Clay, And Sister Cengiz (our mission nurse) showing off our Sunday church outfits!
This man's name was Tony. We were assigned by our bishop to go and help clean a less-active members home up but when we all got there the yard was clean. So we saw Tony across the street and went to work helping him. He actually didn't even live at the house he was working at. It was his friend's house. So he was so grateful that we all came to help. Earlier today the man who owned the home called and told us that he was so touched that a bunch of young men and women would come and clean his yard up. He said it touched him so much that he shared the story with his church congregation and told us if we ever want to come by and teach him or a member of his congregation his house was open! Hurricanes bring miracles!
This is a group of the youth in the ward along with our bishop and a few other member who were helping clean up yards!
Helping Hands selfie!
Just taking a selfie to show off my lovely church outfit.
I was so excited to be at church and to go do some service!
These last few photos are just of some of the damage that happened here in Hendricks! Mostly just fallen trees there was some flooding down by our house and this poor church lost its steeple.

It's fall y'all! - October 3, 2016

Hey family!
We had quite the week here in Hendricks! We did two trade offs this week, had MLC, and then had General Conference. The best part of the week was we have 6 solid baptism dates for October 16th!
I'll give y'all a quick update on everyone we are working with.

We were able to see Sharetha and her family this week. She is our investigator who has 4 kids who are also preparing for baptism. They love it every time we come over! They love the Book of Mormon and are always wanting to read it. They even have been diligent in reading it on their own. We taught them the Word of Wisdom this week. We have had members come to every single lesson with us and they are just being welcomed right into the ward.

Jenny is our other baptism date. We had a lesson with her earlier this week and the Ward Mission Leader came with us. She is from Haiti and moved here about 2 years ago so her English is still not very good but we got her a French Book of Mormon as well as an English one. At our lesson with her we read the introduction of the Book of Mormon and taught her how she can receive an answer. We asked her when she has felt the spirit before and she told us that her and her husband fast and pray and that is usually when she feels the spirit! She is awesome! She came to general conference yesterday and brought her 9 month old baby Ethan. He is the cutest baby ever! Jenny loved conference and got a lot of fellowship from the different ward members that came. We had a pot luck dinner between sessions and then an ice cream social afterwards. It was great! She is so excited to be baptized. We took her on a church tour yesterday and she loved the baptismal font. She just kept saying how beautiful it was. She told us that her husband is also interested and he should be coming to church next week with her!

We are also still working with Jerry. We had members come to his lessons this week as well. We finally taught him the Word of Wisdom. It was good. He has been working on living the Word of Wisdom for the past month. His daughter is a member and told him that he couldn't drink or smoke to get baptized so he decided on his own that he would quit because he wanted to be baptized. He's amazing!

Wednesday we went to Mandarin for MLC. It was really good! They gave some awesome trainings. We have zone meeting this Thursday and I will be giving a training on how to use the teaching record and progress record better and make weekly planning more effective. After MLC we had a trade off with the Jax South sister training leaders. I went to their area. It was a good trade off.

Friday we had another trade off. This time with the YSA sisters. I stayed in my area this time and Sister Miller came here. It was a blast! We laughed the entire time and kept cracking jokes about how awkward we will be when we go home and have to adjust back to the real world and dating. She is going home at the end of this transfer. It was kinda weird being on a trade off with her because when I first got to Ocala she was my sister training leader. We laughed about the first trade off we went on and how she made us knock doors for 3 hours.. let's just say we didn't have time to knock a single door this trade off. We had back to back lessons all night long!

We watched General Conference on Saturday and Sunday at different ward members houses! It was fun! I loved conference so much! I am excited to reread all of the different talks when they come out.
I've finally started panicking about coming home.. I've recently started my weight loss program. I've decided that I must run every morning until the day I go home in hopes to lose about 10lbs. At least maybe then all of my clothes at home will fit! I started this morning. Today was the first time I ran outside with out being on the anti-gravity treadmill at physical therapy. I lasted for about 10 minutes before my ankle started to hurt! But hey, I'll get there!
Hope y'all have a wonderful week! Miss and love y'all!

Love,

Sister Webb

Our Ward Mission Leader's wife decided she wanted to take our photo and she made us do some like engagement poses.. awkward!
Just an awkward photo of me. I think I'm getting less and less photogenic.
Another awkward photo taken of us.

We found a family to baptize!! - September 26, 2016

Hello family,
Crazy to hear that y'all had tornados at home! And no power for 24 hours. That's rough! I thought it was bad when we had the hurricane that we had to stay inside for a few hours. But I'm glad to hear y'all are safe! It's crazy to think that autumn is already here. I still feel as if we are at the beginning of summer! Most days it is still in the 90's here.

I had such an amazing week! Monday was the typical p-day. We went to church and emailed and played volleyball with the other missionaries in the zone. After p-day we had planned to go out and knock doors for the rest of the night but by 6:00 it was a downpour so we ended up staying at the church for the single adult dinner. That is always the best! Everyone there is 80+ and just loves the missionaries! Later that night we went out and tried contacting a few referrals. We have one for a deaf girl. Sister Clay knows sign language so we are excited to teach her.

Tuesday we had district meeting. After district meeting the Fletcher's took us to Cracker Barrel for lunch! We knocked doors for a few hours and then had dinner with the Anderson's. We had a lesson with Jerry. He is doing great! We taught him all about prayer and the importance of it. Finally we ended the night with a lesson with our investigator named Sharetha. So this was quite the adventure finding her apartment. We had met her last Sunday night while street contacting. She gave us her address and told us to come back on Tuesday at 8. Well we pull up to her apartment complex and let's just say it's on the scary side of town. It was dark we couldn't see building numbers so we decide that we would just park the car and walk until we find it. Well after walking in the complex for 20 minutes we make it to the back. It is super dark by this point and the whole time all I can think is I'm going to get shot or mugged. Happy to say, we finally found the apartment. We knock on the door and Sharetha's son Sha'rron answers the door. He just invites us right in. Well it turns out that Sharetha has 4 children all old enough to be baptized. Aaron is the oldest he is 13. Then she has twins Sha'rron and Sharronika they are 11. And then Ariana who is 9. We were able to teach the whole family the restoration and the whole time they were just looking at us with wide eyes and smiles! They had a lot of great questions and participated in the lesson so well! By the end the spirit prompted me to invite them to baptism so I did and guess what? They all said yes!! It was the best thing ever!!!

On Wednesday we went to the Mandarin district meeting. It was really good! After that we had a trade off with the Mandarin 2nd sisters. I went to their area with Sister Caton. It was a lot of fun. We saw their recent convert and then just knocked some doors. The best part about the whole trade off was I finally got brave enough to hold a lizard!! It's only taken me 16 months to build up the courage to do it! Haha

Thursday we ended our trade off and I had physical therapy. It was good. Sister Tuivailala came with me because both of our companions had doctors appointments. Sister Tui is seriously the best! Therapy was good. They rubbed out my leg and ankle again for me and then let me run on the treadmill again! I'm happy to report there is no more pain in my ankle. It still gets a little tight in the mornings but I can finally walk and run and it doesn't hurt! After physical therapy we spent a few hours knocking doors. Then we had dinner with Sister Hays. That was so good! She made us sweet potatoes, steak with bacon and then cookies for dessert! After dinner we had Sister Lee come out with us. Next time we are going to try to get President Lee out with us too! We went and saw Jerry again! We had an awesome lesson. We taught him the gospel of Jesus Christ. We talked more about the importance of prayer and we got Jerry to say the closing prayer! That was a first for him!

Friday was weekly planning. Then we had a trade off with the Mandarin 1st sisters. I stayed in Hendricks and Sister Tuivailala came here! Talk about great trade off! It was the best!! We went and saw Annie who is a member we are working with. It was really good and then we knocked some doors. I had the most embarrassing moment while knocking. So we knock this door and I didn't realize the mail lady was across the street so I hear a "hello" and I thought it was coming through the door so I just yell "hello" back.. yeah, I looked like a complete doodle when I realized that the mail lady was talking to the man across the street who's house she was at... haha hey, it gave Sister Tui and I a good laugh! Later that night we had a "Meet the Mormons" movie night! It was awesome! We had about 50 people come which is a ton! Usually the members don't come to things.  Our investigator Robert came and he loved it and really got some good fellowship.

Saturday we finished our trade off with the Mandarin sisters. It was sad to end because we were having so much fun! After the trade off we spent 30 minutes on the phone with the Tiwi people because it has been making our car malfunction for the past month. The best part was the solution they gave us was to unplug the Tiwi until they can get us a new one! They said it would take about 4 weeks. Until then I don't have to have my car yell at me every 5 minutes to check my speed! Happy day! So after we got the car all sorted out we decided we needed to go up and try seeing Mike because he had not answered our calls or text in a few days. Well, he wasn't home but we had an awesome miracle happen. We met this lady named Jenny who we offered a card to and she invited us into her home and we had a lesson and taught the entire restoration to her and invited her to baptism and set a date for the 16th of October! It was the best! After that we went to dinner at one of the young women's homes. Her name is Brielle, she is so sweet! She is 12 and her parents are currently taking the lessons getting ready for baptism. But Brielle is less active so we are helping her with personal progress. She was so cute though. She made us some cheap noodle thing for dinner and then we just spent the rest of the time doing personal progress! She is such an example to her family! To end the night we went to the church and watched the women's broadcast of conference! I loved every single talk! It was so good! I can't wait for this weekend to watch more conference! I really liked Sister Oscarson's talk and, of course, I loved President Uchtdorf's talk!

Sunday was probably the craziest day all week! So Sharetha and her children all said they were coming to church so we are waiting for them and finally church is about to start so we decide we better sit down. We were so bummed because she said she was coming. Well we checked the phone one last time and we had a text from her saying she is on her way. About 20 minutes later I look back and there they were! All 5 of them!! Of course the only open seat by this point is the front row.. so all 7 of us walk to the front and sit down. They loved it!! After sacrament the ward was so good at jumping in and introducing themselves and making them feel welcome. The kids loved primary and young men's! Sharetha really enjoyed everything as well. The kids said their favorite part was the treats! Haha typical kids. After church we had dinner with Sister Pommell. She was so sweet to feed us. We ran out of food during the week and no one was signed up to feed us on Sunday so when we called and asked her and she gladly fed us! After dinner we knocked doors and then went to a lesson at Sharetha's. It was the best! We get there and Sha'rron makes us sit on the floor in a circle and then he was insistent that we have a kneeling prayer because he learned about prayer in Primary. After that we all just sat on the floor in a circle and read the introduction to the Book of Mormon. It was the most precious thing ever! I didn't want the lesson to end! I just love this family so much! At the end of the lesson I invited them to baptism again and we were able to set a date for October 16th! The ward is so excited that we have found a family and they are all so eager to come out with us! It's been great!

I have such a testimony that if you do what you are suppose to and just work hard Heavenly Father will pour out the blessings! That basically sums up my week! Time is quickly coming to an end on my mission but I'm determined to make every moment count! I am actually starting to enjoy knocking doors. We have had so many miracles and blessing come to our area and I know it is because we are diligently doing our golden hours each day! We have not missed a day since being companions! I hope y'all have a wonderful week! I miss and love y'all so much!

Love,
Sister Webb

It's raining miracles in Hendricks! - September 19, 2016

Hello family!
Sister Clay and I have started to transform Hendricks into the promise land! It has been such a good week! This week we were able to find 7 new investigators. We did 7/7 golden hours. And accomplished 7/9 on our key indicators! This is 100 times better then our last week when we reached 1/9 on key indicators and 5/7 golden hours and like 2 new investigators. This place is on fire!!

Let me just tell y'all about all the great things that have happened here this week! Monday we didn't do to much. Had dinner with the Murray's and they fed us seafood rice casserole.. It was interesting.
After that we just knocked doors the rest of the night.

On Tuesday we had such an awesome day! We taught 5 lessons, had 3 different members come out with us. And we set a baptism date with Jerry! We had a drop lesson with Deanna and Zelma. It was kinda awkward. We followed up with them on how they were going to quit smoking and Deanna had a melt down and basically refused to sit in the same room as us. So it made it for an easy drop lesson. We just excused ourselves and went out finding for some elect people! We went to this less actives house with Sister Cano and it was awesome! So this member had been going to a Baptist church and wanted to know the difference between our church and the Baptist church. We were able to teach her the restoration and read the intro to the Book of Mormon with her and by the end she said she wants to get back to going to church! Reactivation here we come!

We also had a member present with our investigator named Jerry and we were able to set a date for October 16th with him! The miracle with that lesson was the fact that his wife sat in on the lesson as well! So Jerry's wife basically has hated us since day one and hates when we call or stop by but she sat through the whole lesson and we invited them to come to dinner on Saturday night with us and a member and they both said yes!

Wednesday we had zone meeting. It went really well! I gave a training on how to help our investigators to gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon and how important it is that we have a knowledge of the scriptures and the importance of memorizing/ponderizing them. It went great! Sister clay and I also had the privilege of doing to role plays in front of the whole zone... Talk about intimidating! We stressed about it all week and role played it once the night before but let me tell y'all, that was the best role play I have ever done! President Lee also gave us the best compliment I have received my whole mission.  Here are his words, "Sisters, that was amazing! Y'all did so well that could have been on the district!" Yeah, basically Sister Clay and I are awesome!

After our zone meeting we had a trade off. I stayed in Hendricks with Sister Gilbert. She is a brand new missionary. It was fun! We had a lesson with Mike that night and a member came out with us. It was good. We read from the Book of Mormon with him about baptism and then invited him to baptism. He said it was too soon for that but he would be willing to continue learning and meeting with us and coming to church!

Thursday we spent most of the day finding. We did like a 3 hour golden hour and then tried some less actives who we had no clue who were. It was good. We tried this one member who didn't live there any more but a lady named Kenya lived there and she was very open to letting us teach her. She is currently looking for a church for her and her daughter! And she set a return appointment! Can you say new gator!! We also had dinner with a less active family and then went to class at the church where Justin came. He is currently dating a less active member who lives in Mandarin first so he has been super nice and happy! We had an awesome lesson with him after class where we talked about baptism and prayer. He even committed to pray every day this week! And he is inviting us and his new girlfriend over for dinner and a lesson soon!

Friday we had weekly planning. I also had a physical therapy appointment! Here is some happy news! I ran for the first time in months with out my ankle hurting!! I was able to run for 15 minutes straight! Happy day!! So at therapy they had me run on this anti gravity treadmill. It was awesome! So they have you put on these little shorts that have a zipper around the waist and then then zip you into the treadmill and it fills up with air so it takes away all of your body weight. We set it so I was running at 70 percent of my body weight and it was so good! I'm excited able to get back to running so i can hopefully lose some weight..

After therapy we had a lesson with Kenya! She is so awesome! She believed everything we taught her and was so excited to learn more! We then contacted a referral named Angie who requested a Bible. We were able to teach her about the Book of Mormon and set a return appointment! We are going back tonight! It was awesome! We ended the night by going out with the young women's president to see some of the less active young women! It was great! We were able to set up a time with 3 of them to come each week and do personal progress and teach the new member lessons to them! We are basically going to reactivate all of Hendricks!

Saturday was just as good as the rest of the week! We went out again with Sister Ortega, who is the young women's president. And then we had Brother and Sister Hays take us, Jerry and his wife Mary out to dinner! It was the best! We had an another awesome lesson with them and Mary even committed to read from the Book of Mormon and pray about it! Miracles are definitely taking place here in Hendricks!

That was basically all that has been going on here! It's been such a fun week! I am loving every minute of being companions with Sister Clay! We laugh and joke all the time! Thanks for the package mom! I loved everything in it! I was super excited about the razors because mine was getting pretty old and I was to cheap too buy a new one! Y'all are the best! I hope y'all have a good week! I love and miss y'all!

Love,
Sister Webb
